SC Upholds 'Secular' & Socialist In Preamble, Rejects Removal...

On Monday, Supreme Court rejected three petitions challenging the words 'secular' and 'socialist' in the Preamble of the Constitution of India

This terms were added through the 42nd Amendment during the Emergency in 1976

A bench comprising Chief Justice of India (CJI) Sanjiv Khanna and Justice PV Sanjay Kumar upheld Parliament's authority to amend the Preamble under Article 368 extended 
extended to the Preamble of the Constitution.
