The Supreme Court of India on Tuesday April 2, took Patanjali founder Baba Ramdev for regarding misleading advertisements on health cure.
Accoring to media reports, the Court pulled up the Union Goverenment Ministry of Ayush, "chose to keep eyes shut when Patanjali Ayurved was going to town and claim curing the diseases, said both the central and state goverenment were complicit in their activities.
Baba Ramdev along with Patanjali Ayurved MD Acharya Balkrishna who were present in the court in the connection with the issued as to contempt proceedings would not be initated against them.
The bench comprising Justices Hima Kohli and Ashanuddin Amanullah, pulled them in the matter, and "if this is indefensible, then your apology will not work, then your apology will not work, this is a gross violation of the undertaking given to the top court, you have to ensure that your undertaking is solemn should have been adhered to we are not will willing to accept this, and proceeding in such a serious matter, so your apology is not persuading this court really to accept it, and what is the reason to accept your apology? Justice Kohli said.
The court granted one last oppurunities to Ramdev and Balkrishna to file their affidavits in the matter in a week, the Court for further hearing on April 10 the bench instructed both of them Ramdev and Balkrishna shall be remain presentat the next hearing.
