Rescuers recovered a body on early Wednesday from coal mine in Assam's Dima Hasao district nearly 72 hours after a least nine workers were
trapped there due to flooding.
The Indian Army Assam Rifles, State Disaster response Force (SDRF),National Disaster Response (NDRF) and other agencies continued their rescue operations on Tuesday to evacuate nine people were
trapped in a coal mine at 3 Kilo, Umrangso area in Assam.
Assam Chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma posted on X, informed that 21 Para divers have recovered the body from the bottom of the wall. Our thoughts and prayers are with the grieving family.
Assam Mine and Minerals Ministers Kaushik Rai said, rescue operations is underway, all the officials are here and we are all making an efforts to rescue everyone.
