On 26 March Tuesday the General Administration department of Asssam Goverenment has received request from various orgainsations urge for a local holiday to be delcared for Dol Jatra in the Kamrup Metropolitian District.
Dol Jatra is celebrtaed mainly in eastern India, signifies the arrival of spring with great enthusiasm.
The proposal to delcare on March 26, 2024 as a local holiday as a honour of Dol Jatra is currently reviwed by the General Administration Department. Updates regarding for his decisons will be given accordingly.
