
US Military aircraft carrying 104 illegal Indian immigrants landed at the Shri Guru Ramdas International Airport in Amritsar at Wednesday.
The massive crackdown on illegal migrants unleashed by President Donald Trump has put pressure on nationals of many countries that entered in USA with dubious means.
Punjab Director General of Police (DGP) Gaurav Yadav stated that the state government is prepared to receive the deportees, with counters set up at the airport for processing.
There are 104 Indian deportees on the flight and they will be processed separately from regular passengers before boarding buses to their home states, including Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Uttar Pradesh and Gujarat.
Trump mentioned the Indian PM saying that Modi assured him that India would do the right thing concerning illegal Indian immigrants and take them back, According to the international reports, India and USA have identified 18,000 Indian immigrants who entered the US illegally.
External Affairs Minister S.Jaishankar will discuss in a next week concerns of Indian nationals living in US.
