The stampede took place as hundreds of devotees jostled for tickets for Vaikunta Dwara Darshanam at Lord Venkateswara Swamy temple in Tirumala Hills, as police said
Despite the counters not being set to open until early morning 5 AM, devotees began queuing in the early evening, resulting in massive crowds, stampedes were reported at locations such as
Srinivasam, Bairagipatteda Ramanaidu School, and Satyanarayanapuram. The injured were immediately rushed to a nearby hospital for medical attention.
Andhra Pradesh CM N Chandrababu Naidu expressed deep sorrow over the incident and took swift action in response, he directed senior officials to rush to the site and oversee the relief efforts, ensuring the injured and recieved
prompt medical treatment.
