Imd Issues Red Alert In Assam Amid Heavy Rains And Floods

The Meteorological Centre has again issued a warning of incessant heavy rain in the state till June 18. Heavy rain is forecast again as Guwahati city is submerged in artificial floods in various parts of the state along with incessant rains. The storm that originated at the Bay of Bengal sea level has affected the northeastern state (IMD issues red alert in Assam amid heavy rains and floods).

Heavy rain at isolated places over Assam-Meghalaya in the next 24 hours besides light rain at some places is likely to be very likely. According to a warning issued by the Regional Meteorological Centre at Barjhar, heavy rain and lightning are expected in the sky at various places in Assam-Meghalaya till June 18.

There will also be heavy rain at some places in Assam-Meghalaya and light rain along with lightning in some places till June 19 and 20. Similarly, heavy rain will occur in some parts of Assam Meghalaya as well as Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura from today till June 20, senior meteorologists at the Regional Meteorological Centre in Barjhar said.
