Record for liquor sales: Rs 5 crore sold in Guwahati on diwali two days

This time the city residents set a record by buying liquor and not Atasbaji on Diwali. Liquor worth Rs 5 crore has been sold in Guwahati in just two days of Diwali. Even when price rise has made the common man angry but a record number of liquor sales were sold in the city's liquor outlets in two days of Diwali.

Liquor was sold in the city on Thursday as well as Friday at Rs 5 crore 1 lakh 32 thousand. Out of these, 2 crore 56 lakh 70 thousand rupees on Thursday and Rs. 2.44 crore 62 thousand on Friday. Total wine shops in Guwahati are 305 and wine bars are 226. The total number of liquor sales in each of the 531 liquor outlets increased to 30/40% in two days of Deepawali.

The people of Guwahati set a record by buying jewellery on the day of Dhanteras but this record was broken by the people of the city. On the other hand 50 people were admitted to GMCH after drinking or causing road accidents on diwali day two.
