Union Home Minister Amit Shah will undertake a two-day visit to Assam, during which he is scheduled to inaugurate the Integrated Command and Control System (ICCS) and launch several key development projects aimed at strengthening security infrastructure and governance in the state.
According to official sources, Shah will inaugurate the ICCS, a state-of-the-art technological platform designed to enhance real-time surveillance, coordination and response among law enforcement agencies. The system is expected to significantly improve crime monitoring, traffic management and emergency response capabilities, particularly in urban areas.
In addition to the ICCS, the Union Home Minister will inaugurate and lay foundation stones for a number of infrastructure and public welfare projects being implemented with central assistance. These initiatives are part of the government’s broader focus on boosting connectivity, administrative efficiency and socio-economic development in Assam and the wider Northeast region.
During his visit, Shah is also expected to hold meetings with senior state officials to review the law-and-order situation and assess the progress of various centrally sponsored schemes. He is likely to interact with BJP leaders to discuss organisational matters and future strategies.
The Assam government has termed the visit significant, stating that the projects to be inaugurated will contribute to improved public safety, better governance and accelerated development in the state. Shah’s visit comes at a crucial time as Assam prepares for the 2026 Assembly elections, adding political importance to the engagements scheduled over the two days.
