The Assam Rifles on Sunday flagged off a National Integration Tour for youth from Jiribam district under its Civic Action Programme, aimed at promoting national unity, cultural understanding and people-to-people contact.
The tour was formally flagged off from Kadamtala by Colonel Prasant Singh Chundawat, Commandant of the Srikona Battalion of the Assam Rifles. A total of 17 participants, including members of the local women’s organisation Jiri Ima Meira Paibi Apunba Lup, are taking part in the initiative.
