World Turtle Day is an annual celebration observed on May 23 each year, several beaches are known as turtle nesting sites, where you can witness the incredible sight of turtle hatchlings making their way to sea, Initiated by the American Tortoise rescue in 2000, the encourages people to come together and deepen their understanding of these remarkable creatures.
Tortoises live on land and can live up to 300 years, while turtles live in water and have a lifespan of about 40 years, both play important roles in the ecosystem.
