The High Court has issued a notice to the state government regarding the ban on many marriages. 

The Guwahati High Court issued the notice on Wednesday.

The state government had abolished the Special Marriage Act for Muslims.

The licenses of the judges were also revoked. The decision was taken at the state government cabinet meeting.

 There is a public interest litigation against this in the Guwahati High Court. 

The petition was filed by some judges whose licenses were revoked. The government will have to file an affidavit within two months.
