Justice D Y Chandrachud was appointed as the 50th Chief Justice of India by President Draupadi Murmu on Monday.
He will take oath on November 9, a day after incumbent CJI Justice Uday Umesh Lalit demits office on attaining the age of 65.
Dy Chandrachud will take over as chief justice soon after. President Draupadi Murmu today approved the appointment of DY Chandrachud as the 50th Chief Justice of India. Justice Chandrachud will continue to hold the post of Chief Justice of India till November 11, 2024.
