Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma has announced a four percent hike in a dearness allowance (DA) for state goverenment employees and state pensioners in Assam.


Speaking to the media in Guwahati on Thursday , Assam CM Sarma made the announcement of the DA hike effective January 1,2024 and stated further due to the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, the state goverenment will be paid the employees in installments.

With the recent increase in dearness allowance has reached raised 50 %. The first arrears will disbursed in May, the second will be in June, and the third will be in July.

CM has also announced decisions regarding recruitment of Grade IV employee in Lower Primary (LP) and Middle English (ME) in Assam.

As per reports, the Department of Information and Public Relations (DIPR) will provide additional Rs 5,000 for a 1KW solar pannel for the journalist.


CM highlighted that six-lane Baisistha-Jalukbari of Guwahati bypass will inaugrated withiin five months of the scheduled date.
