On March 12, All Assam Student's Union protest against the implementation of Citizenship (Amendment) Act (CAA). The protest was held in Latashil Uzanbazar area of Guwahati evening. More than 400 students joined in the protest against the descision of the centre.
Students joined the protest, with the torchlight procession, vowing to continue their demonstration until the law is withdrawn by the goverenment.
Protesters have raised slogans including 'CAA Ami Namanu , (we not will not accept the CAA) and 'Joi Aai Asom' (Victory to Mother Assam)
Speaking to AASU Advisor, Sammujjal Bhattacharaya said this will continue with non-violent protest and legal battles, he also highlighted those who have come after March 24, 1971 cannot be accepted as laid down in the accord and later in the Citizenship Act.
Assam and Northeast are not dumping ground for illegal immigrates.
