After the formation of the government, there was speculation about when the Union Government would present the budget. The likely date of presentation of the budget this year has already been announced. The budget for the 2024-25 fiscal could be released in the last week of July, PTI reported. Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman may hold a special meeting on the 20th of this month before presenting the budget. The Finance Minister will hold a special meeting with Revenue Secretary Sanjay Malhotra on June 18 ahead of the meeting, sources said.
