Bangladesh In Flames: Protestors Torch Sheikh Mujibur's Historic Home....

On February 6, 2025, thousands of protesters in Dhaka, Bangladesh, attacked and set fire to the historic residence of the nation's founding leader, Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, located at Dhanmondi 32 the residence of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.


The attack, fueled by social media calls to demolish what was termed a "pilgrimage site of fascism" unfolded scheduled "Bulldozer Procession" event at 9:00 pm.

Hundreds of  protesters stormed the protesters the premises around 8:00 pm an hour before the planned procession began dismantling the building with shovels and hammers.

During her speech, organised by the now-disbanded Chhatra League, Sheikh Hasina urged the Bangladeshi people to resist the current regime, led by Nobel Laureate Mohammad Yunus.'They are yet to have the strength to destroy  the national flag, the constitution and the independence at the cost of lives of millions of martyrs with a bulldozer, "Hasina stated, reference Yunus government she remarked, "They can demolish a building, but not the history, but also the remember that the history takes it revenge."


Hasina fled to India last August, anger has not dissipated against her and her Awami League partymates.

As per reports, protesters also vandalised and torch the houses and busniesses of Awami League Leaders.


Police also told reporters that around 700 protesters showed up at the residence on Wedensday night and dozens of police officers were deployed.
