Climate social activist Sonam Wangchuk during his 21-days fast in last month the people of Ladakh top join him on a border on a "onground check" of the alleged encroachment of grazing land at the India- China border.
The Ladakh administration on April 6 Friday decided to imposed Section 144 in Leh district of the proposed of "Pashmina March" by climate activisit Sonam Wangchuk to the Changthang region to highlight shrinking grazing lands of the Union Territory (UT).
In a order, Leh district Magistrate Santosh Sukhdeva, cited 'reliable inputs of apprehension of breach of peace and tranquility in the district', he also added there shall be no procession, rally march etc, taken out by anyone without the prior approval and no one should use vehicles mounted or other loudspeakers without approval.
No publiv gatherings without the prior approval comptent shall be allowed and no one shall make any statements.
The order said action will be taken against the violaters, all person should follow the model code of the conduct, and activities should be the according to the law.
Any violation of the order shall be invite punitive action under Section 188 of the Indian Penal Code, the order said.
Shri Darshan Singh, Additional Director General of Police , Ladakh has sought to reduce mobile data services upto 2G, ''and suspending 3G 4G 5G mobile data and public Wi-Fi facilities temporarlily in the interest of maintainence of public peace''.
