Tinsukia Becomes First District in Northeast free from Legacy Waste....

On March 13, Tinsukia District administration with five muncipal boards in the districtsa, Tinsukua, Doomdooma, Digboi, Makum and Margherita municipal boards- has taken an initative steps in the month of March 202, aimed at making district free from legacy waste. 


As per reports, it used bio-mining techniques for over waste treatment, over a course of  a year 1.53 lakh metric tones (MT) of legacy waste  was treated across the districts.

Swapneel Paul, district commisisioner of Tinsukia has stated that treatment of waste all in the sites has yielded more than 80 bighas of land near urban centres of the districts which can be used for developmental activities.


This initative has made Tinsukia a model district of land through biomining of legacy waste.
