On Friday 16, Congress Party accounts, including The India Youth Congress, were frozen on an Income Tax demand of Rs 210 Cr. Ajay Maken said just ahead 2 weeks before the Lok Sabha election an assault on Indian democracy.
All the opposition party of the country's main accounts have been frozen. Maken also mentioned the party at present lacks funds, settle bills or pay salaries to the employees.
Congress was unable to use even the funds recieved unders its crowdfunding scheme. he also alleged that democary was in the danger as Ajay Maken said in the press conference.
Vivek Tanka said to the tribunal thatt the Congress would not be able to participate in the 'festival of elections' incase its accounts remain frozen.The matter will hear on next Wedensday before a final decision is taken on the matter.
Ajay Maken also added that Congress had filed its Income Tax return for the concerned year a few days, according to PTI.
