Thailand government has decided allowing tourists from Indian and Taiwan to visit the country without needing a visa from another six months.
According to Bloomberg report, Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin announced the extension following a cabinet meeting on Tuesday, indicating that travelers from India and Taiwan can stay for a maximum of 30 days without a visa.
This extension comes after the succession of the initial wavier implemented last November, before tourist from India and Taiwan were allowed to stay in Thailand for 15 days under a visa arrival on scheme. Thailand heavily reliant on tourism has been strategically easy on visa rules for travelers from key markets such as China and Russia to encourage visitors arrival.
Ministry of Toursim and Sports reported a significant increase in foreign tourist arrivals in the first four months of 2024, with over 12 million visitors welcomed.
