Guwahati HC sets aside interim relief to MP Naba Kumar Sarania...

The Guwahati High Court on Wedensday set aside an interim order by a single bench order passed by the State Level Caste Scrunity Committee which opined that Naba Kumar Sarania a sitting Lok Sabha member from Kokrajhar constiuency. The Guwahati High Court had given interim relief to Sarania in a case challenging his ST (P) community in Assam.


The two-judge  bench comprising the Chief Justice Vijay Bishnoi and its judgement on Wedensday, to be scheduled for final disposal on Friday because of the urgency of the situation.

The seat goes to the polls on May 7.

Justice Suman Sharma said, we are of the view of the impungned order passed by the learned single judge cannot be sustained and the same is therefore set aside.
