The Indian workforce has began the West Indies tour in a good way.
The first match of the three-match ODI series between the two teams was played at the Queen's Park ground in Trinidad on Friday. The Blue Army won the match by three runs. The hero of the match was 36-year-old opener Shikhar Dhawan. His partner, young opener Shubman Gillo, is appreciated. Gill, who played in the ODI format after a long time, started the innings and scored a brilliant fifty of 64 off 53 balls.
Shubman Gill fell prey to Caribbean captain Nicolas Puran in the first ODI. In fact, Gill and Dhawan were trying to steal a run off the fourth ball of the 18th over, but they failed completely here. Gill gently pushed the ball towards midwicket to try to take a run, meanwhile, Pooran, who was fielding eagerly within 30 yards, finished his innings with a straight throw.
Direct hit from @nicholas_47, and @ShubmanGill perishes. Big blow.
