Another young footballer has lost his life after a prolonged illness. Miguel van Damme, 28, has died unexpectedly after a long and valiant battle with leukemia.

Belgium's star footballer Miguel van Damme finally quit the world after fighting cancer. Miguel left at the age of 28, crying to everyone. The footballer was suffering from blood cancer i.e. leukemia. Miguel van Damme was diagnosed with cancer during a routine health check-up in 2016/17 and fought bravely against cancer for five years after that.

The footballer finally gave in to destiny. At the time of his death, the footballer left behind a 10-month-old daughter named Yana Dobbelaire and Camily. Many former and current Belgian footballers also expressed deep grief over the untimely demise of the young footballer. The footballer's club, Karkle Bruge, expressed deep grief over the death of Miguel van Damme and paid his last respects.

Kyana Dobbelaere, his wife, announced his death on Instagram. The news of his demise has shocked the football world and condolences have been sent to the goalkeeper’s family from across the world.
