Assam Govt Sets Timelines for CM Atmanirbhar Asom Abhiyan Benefits, ADRE Appointments

The Assam government on Tuesday announced fixed timelines for the disbursement of benefits under the Chief Minister’s Atmanirbhar Asom Abhiyan (CM AAA) scheme and for issuing appointment letters to candidates selected through the Assam Direct Recruitment Examination (ADRE), aiming to clear pending processes before the enforcement of the Model Code of Conduct.

Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, addressing the public during a televised interaction, said nearly 75,000 youths would benefit from the CM AAA scheme, which focuses on promoting self-employment and entrepreneurship among educated unemployed youths in the state. He stated that the list of beneficiaries would be finalised by the end of January 2026, while district-wise distribution of benefits would take place between January 15 and February 15.

On the recruitment front, the Chief Minister outlined a detailed schedule for issuing appointment letters under various government departments. He announced that appointment letters for candidates selected under the Directorate of Health Services (DHS) and Directorate of Medical Education (DME) would be distributed on December 22, while those selected under the three per cent reservation for tea tribes would receive appointment letters on December 23.

Referring to delays in the ADRE process, Sarma explained that the recruitment exercise involved coordination across 38 departments, district-level verification, and additional medical examinations for specially-abled candidates, which contributed to the extended timeline.

However, the government has now fixed firm deadlines. Appointment letters for Grade IV posts under ADRE will be issued before January 10, 2026, while Grade III appointments are expected to be completed by January 15. The remaining departmental appointments are scheduled to be finalised by February 15, 2026.

The Chief Minister also assured candidates selected as teachers under a special recruitment drive that their appointment letters would be handed over by February 10, 2026.

The announcement brings clarity and relief to thousands of aspirants awaiting government jobs and financial assistance under key state schemes, with the government reiterating its commitment to timely implementation and transparency.
