National: Heavy floods in Maharashtra educational institutions closed, IMD issued red alert...

Heavy rains have disrupted life in Mumbai, Pune and surrounding areas. The Met Department has issued a forecast of moderate to heavy rains for several parts of Maharashtra. Four people have been killed in Pune due to heavy rains. The rains have flooded several houses and residential areas in the southern part of the city. The rescue operation has  begun.

A red alert has been issued in Pune and Raigad districts. Heavy rains are expected in the next 24 hours in the districts. Meanwhile, air and local trains were disrupted due to heavy rains. Schools and colleges in Raigad and Thane districts have been declared closed due to heavy rains.
