Climate Activist Sonam Wangchuk, who has been on a hunger strike began a 21 days long fast in the presence of huge gathering in Leh on March 6.
Wangchuk demands for statehood and constitutional safeguards under sixth schedule for the Union Territory of Ladakh, the activist said that Ladakh also deserves a full fledged democratic goverenment just like Jammu & Kashmir after the assmbley elections.
Despite in a freezing temperatures 12 degree celcius, Sonam Wangchuk initated 'climate fast' have followed failure neogtiations between the representatives of the Leh-based Apex body and the Kargil Democratic Alliance.
Joining Wangchuk Protest, the Kargil Democratic Alliance and Leh Apex Body called fora bandh on Wedensday, banners with 'Save Ladakh and Wangchuk demands are implemantation for sixth schedule of the Constitution in the region, seperate Lok Sabha seats for Leh and Kargil districts, has been recruitment process and a seperate Public Service Commisiion and Statehood for Ladakh.
