He will also lay the foundation stones for two cancer care centres in Golaghat and Tinsukia, each costing around ₹135 crore, under the Assam Cancer Care Foundation initiative to improve cancer treatment facilities across the state.
In addition, the Union Home Minister will launch several super-speciality hospital projects, including facilities at Diphu Medical College and Hospital, Jorhat Medical College and Hospital, and Barpeta Medical College and Hospital, with a combined investment of hundreds of crores to enhance advanced medical treatment in different parts of Assam.
Shah is also scheduled to inaugurate the Swasthya Bhawan in Guwahati and lay the foundation stone for the Abhayapuri District Hospital, further expanding the healthcare network in the state.
Apart from inaugurating the projects, Shah will attend party programmes and address a convention of the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha, the youth wing of the Bharatiya Janata Party. The visit comes at a time when political activities are intensifying ahead of the upcoming Assembly elections in Assam.
