The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast largely dry weather across Assam for the next few days, with light rainfall expected in parts of the state later this week.
According to the India Meteorological Department’s Regional Meteorological Centre in Guwahati, most areas of the state will experience dry conditions on Thursday, with no significant change in maximum temperatures.
The weather department said isolated places may receive light rainfall on Friday, though dry weather is likely to prevail in most districts. Rain activity is expected to gradually increase from Saturday, with light showers predicted at isolated locations across the state.
From Sunday onwards, rainfall activity may intensify slightly, with light rain expected at several places. Thunderstorms accompanied by lightning may also occur in some areas. During this period, daytime temperatures are likely to drop by around 3–5 degrees Celsius.
For Guwahati and adjoining areas, the IMD has predicted partly cloudy skies with haze over the next few days. The maximum temperature is expected to hover around 32°C, while the minimum temperature may remain close to 17°C.
Meteorologists said parts of Northeast India could witness increased weather activity in the coming days as conditions become favourable for rainfall across the region.
