D. K. Shivakumar Downplays Leadership Speculation, Expresses Confidence in Congress Ahead of Assam Polls

Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister D. K. Shivakumar on Friday downplayed speculation over a possible leadership change in the state, saying any decision regarding the Chief Minister’s post would be taken by the party high command at the appropriate time. In an interview with NDTV, Shivakumar maintained that he remains committed to party discipline amid ongoing buzz about his equations with Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. Turning to the upcoming Assam Assembly polls, the senior Congress leader expressed confidence in his party’s prospects, claiming that people in the state are looking for change and that there is visible anti-incumbency against the ruling BJP.
