A Community Festival was organised in several schools across Assam’s Goalpara district with the aim of strengthening ties between educational institutions and local communities while promoting cultural harmony and inclusiveness.
The festival was organised under the supervision of the Balijana Block Elementary Education Office, with the main programme held at Banglabari LP School under the Rangagora Cluster Resource Centre. Students, teachers, parents and members of the local community participated enthusiastically in the event.
The programme featured a range of cultural activities, including traditional dances, folk songs, rallies and indigenous games, showcasing the rich cultural diversity of the region. Students from different communities took part in performances, reflecting the spirit of unity and mutual respect.
Speaking on the occasion, education officials said the Community Festival was designed to encourage active community participation in school activities and to create a supportive learning environment for students. They emphasised that such initiatives help bridge the gap between schools and society, making education more inclusive and effective.
Teachers noted that the festival provided students with an opportunity to express their cultural identity and talents beyond the classroom, while parents and local residents appreciated being directly involved in school programmes.
The organisers said similar community-based initiatives will continue in the district to foster collaboration between schools and communities and to promote holistic development of children through cultural and social engagement
