Amritpal Singh who is currently in Dibrugarh jail and he said he will run for a seat in a Lok Sabha from the Khadoor Sahib constituency in Punjab, as per reports Singh's lawyer Rajdev Singh Khalsa confirmd that the leader of Waris Punjab De will run as independent candidate.

After the decision to contest the election, the family present, Singh has been in Dibrugarh jail in Assam 2023 under the National Security Act, after turning himself into the police.
