On March 4, Union Minister and Former CM Sarbananda Sonowal laid the foundation stone for the second Ayurbedic College in Assam, Dudhnoi in Goalpara district on March 4.
This will be the second Ayurbedic College that will established in Northeastern in Assam after a gap of 76 years. The construction of two 50-bed Ayush hospital in Assam's Kokrajhar ata Baksa will virtually laid by Sonwal during the event.
The new college will be developed with an estimate cost of 70 crore, the new Ayurbedic College will initally 100 students for undergraduate cours (BAMS) with provisions for post-graduate courses in the future.
Sonowal highlighted the 50-bed integrated Ayush Hospital in Kokrajar and Baksha districts of Assam will set up with the investment of 30 crore, contributing and upgradtion of healthcare facilities in the region.
The Union Minister was joined by the Health & Family Welfare Minister, Govt of Assam, Keshav Mahanta the MLA of West Guwahati, Ramendra Narayan Kalita, the MLA of Dispur, Atul Bora MLA of Guwahati East and Siddhartha Bhattacharya among others including Ayush experties, top officials students and teachers.
