Veteran actress Asha Parekh will be presented with this year's Dadasaheb Phalke Award. This was announced by Information and Broadcasting Minister Anurag Thakur. Asha Parekh will be honoured with the award at the National Film Awards ceremony. Asha Parekh started working in films when she was just 10 years old. Asha Parekh has worked in more than 95 films.

Information and Broadcasting Minister Anurag Thakur announced the 52nd Dadasaheb Phalke Award and also informed that Asha Parekh will be conferred with the national film awards ceremony. President Draupadi Murmu will confer the award. Thakur takes pride in the fact that the legendary Bollywood actress has been selected for the honour. He also said that the National Film Awards ceremony will be held in Delhi on September 30.

 

She started her career as a child artist and starred in many films like 'Dil Deke Dekho', 'Tishri Manzil', 'Kati Patang', 'Love in Talkieo', 'Aaya Saavon Jhoom Ke', 'Un Milo Sajna'. For the past few decades, there have been artists, drivers and producers in the world of Hindi cinema. Her first film as a lead actress was 'Dil Deke Dekho'.

She has made many more profits in terms of advances in the field of entertainment. In 1992, She was honoured with the prestigious Padma Shri by the Government of India. Asha Parekh was also the Chairman of the Chairman's Board from 1998 to 2001. The five women had chosen the award for this honor. There were Asha Bhosle, Hema Malini, Poonam Dhillon, T.H. Nagabharan and Udit Narayan.
