There is a new turn in the police beating incident in Basistha another constable of Basistha police station was threatened by phone. Constable Pranjal Saikia received death threats over the phone. The officer was threatened by an unidentified number.
The victims were identified as Ankur Dutta, Devananda Deb and Krishanu Lahkar, who beat up a police constable named Pradeep Basumatary at The ECHO bar in Beltola. They were arrested by the police but released overnight. The whole incident remained a mystery.
