The All India Democratic Women’s Association (AIDWA) on Saturday staged a protest highlighting a range of pressing women’s issues and demanding stronger intervention from the government. Activists and members gathered with placards and slogans, drawing attention to rising crimes against women, gaps in welfare implementation, and the need for improved safety and economic support.
AIDWA leaders said the demonstration was organised to amplify the concerns of women, particularly those from marginalised and economically weaker sections. They alleged that despite existing policies, many women continue to face insecurity, unemployment, and limited access to healthcare and social protection.
The organisation urged the authorities to take immediate and concrete steps, including stricter enforcement of laws related to crimes against women, better delivery of welfare schemes, and enhanced support systems at the grassroots level. Protesters warned that they would intensify their agitation if their demands are not addressed promptly.
