Bud Cricket Club booked their place in the final of the Assam Premier Club Championship with a dominant performance against Gauhati Town Club in the semifinal at Judges Field. Bud secured qualification on the basis of a first-innings lead after putting up a strong all-round show in the two-day encounter.
Batting first, Bud Cricket Club posted a commanding total of 302 runs, laying a solid foundation for the match. Their bowlers then made early inroads, with fast bowler Rohit Singh delivering a match-winning spell of 7 for 57 to restrict Gauhati Town Club and ensure a crucial first-innings advantage. In the second innings, Bud further strengthened their position by scoring 195 for 4 before the close of play, highlighted by an unbeaten century from Swarnav Srihit Guru Das, who anchored the innings with a composed 117 not out.
With this victory, Bud Cricket Club advanced to the final, where they will face City Cricket Club, who had earlier sealed their spot by defeating New Star Club in the other semifinal on first-innings lead. The final is scheduled to be played in Guwahati and is expected to be a closely contested clash between two of the tournament’s most consistent sides.
