The State Level Police Recruitment Board (SLPRB), Assam, has officially launched a major recruitment drive for 3,228 vacancies across the Assam Police and allied departments for the 2026 intake. The online application process is currently underway and will remain open till February 22, 2026, according to the official notification.
The recruitment covers a wide range of posts, including Constable (Grade III), Constable (WO/WT), Assam Forest Protection Force (AFPF) Constable, Forest Guard, Forester, Fireman, and several other specialised and support roles under the police, forest, and fire and emergency services departments.
Eligible candidates who are Indian citizens and permanent residents of Assam can apply online through the official SLPRB portal at slprbassam.in. Offline applications will not be accepted.
As per the notification, the educational qualification varies by post, with most positions requiring candidates to have passed Class 10 or Class 12, while certain posts such as Forester may require graduation. The age limit generally ranges from 18 to 25 years, with relaxation applicable for reserved categories as per government norms.
The selection process will involve multiple stages, including the Physical Standard Test (PST), Physical Efficiency Test (PET), a written examination, and document verification. Candidates applying for technical or specialised posts may also have to appear for additional skill or trade tests.
SLPRB has advised applicants to carefully read the detailed advertisement available on the official website before applying, as eligibility conditions, physical standards, and selection criteria differ from post to post.
