Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday emphasised the importance of self-confidence, good health and discipline as the cornerstones of success while interacting with students from Assam during Pariksha Pe Charcha. Addressing exam-related stress and broader life challenges, the Prime Minister urged students to believe in themselves and focus on personal growth rather than unhealthy comparisons.
PM Modi highlighted that confidence plays a decisive role in overcoming fear and pressure, drawing examples from Indian history to underline how belief in one’s abilities can shape success. He also stressed the need for students to take care of their physical and mental health, advising them to adopt simple habits such as regular breathing exercises, mindful eating and maintaining a disciplined daily routine. According to him, a healthy body and a calm mind help students perform better not only in examinations but in life as well.
Responding to concerns about parental pressure, the Prime Minister advised parents to avoid comparing their children with others, saying such comparisons often create anxiety and undermine self-esteem. He encouraged students to compete with themselves instead, work on their weaknesses and strive for continuous self-improvement. The interactive session, part of the annual Pariksha Pe Charcha initiative, aimed to help students deal with exam stress and develop a positive outlook towards learning and life.
