Assam: Gaurav Gogoi Holds Meetings with Various Groups in Golaghat

Assam Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) president and Lok Sabha MP Gaurav Gogoi on Friday held a series of meetings with different social, professional and party groups in Golaghat district as part of the Congress party’s outreach programme.
The meetings were organised by the Golaghat District Congress Committee and aimed at engaging with people from diverse sections of society to understand local issues and strengthen organisational coordination ahead of the upcoming Assembly elections.
During the day, Gogoi interacted with members of the Golaghat Tennis Club, where discussions centred on youth engagement and the promotion of sports. He also met members of the Golaghat Bar Association, who highlighted issues concerning the legal fraternity and access to justice.
Later, Gogoi held discussions with representatives of various non-political organisations at Sukuntala Bibah Bhawan. Participants raised concerns related to development, employment and public welfare, while also sharing feedback on governance-related matters affecting the district.
In the final session, the APCC president met block-level Congress leaders, supervising officers and party functionaries from all five Assembly constituencies in Golaghat district. The meeting focused on reviewing organisational preparedness, strengthening grassroots networks and formulating strategies for the forthcoming polls.
Senior Congress leaders, including AICC national secretary and Assam in-charge Bikas Upadhyay, APCC working president Roslina Tirkey, vice-chairperson Meena Teli and other office-bearers, were present during the meetings.
Party leaders said the interactions were part of a broader effort by the Congress to reconnect with the public and incorporate grassroots feedback into its political agenda in the run-up to the elections.
