Former Indian Cricketer and BJP MP Gautam Gambhir on Saturday he wrote on X that he asked party chief JP Nadda to ‘ relieve me from the polical duties’ so he can focus on upcoming cricket commitments .
Gambhir also thanked Hon’ble PM Narendra Modi and Amit Shah ji for allowing him to serve the people, Jai Hind’ he tweeted Gambhir.
However, he did not clarify if he is quitting politics or not, Gambhir has been elected in MP Lok Sabha election in 2019. He defeated AAP’s Atishi from East Delhi Constituency.
As per reports, Gambhir will be joining in the upcoming months due to his commitments in the Indian Premier League (IPL) where he is serving as a mentor of Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), a team he lead to two IPL titles as a captain.
