The Guwahati High Court has disposed of a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) seeking 80 % job reservation for Assamese people.
The court stated that the issue is currently under the consideration of the state goverenment. The division bench comprising Cheif Justice Vijay Bishnoi and Justice Suman Shyam observed that the issues raised in the PIL are under consideration of the Assam Goverenment.
The state is set to 80 % of the position under the Goverenment of Assam and State Goverenment projects for Assamese citizens.
