The Assam Cricket Association (ACA) on Friday issued a clarification stating that a circular related to the Assam Premier League (APL), which has been circulating widely on social media and digital platforms, is fake and has not been issued by the association. In a statement, the ACA said the misleading document has unauthorisedly used its name, logo and other official details, creating confusion among players, officials and the public. The association categorically denied any connection with the contents of the circular and urged stakeholders to rely only on information released through its official website and verified communication channels. The ACA also clarified that the Assam Premier League has not yet been formally announced and that all decisions regarding the tournament will be communicated in due course through proper and official means. Warning against the spread of misinformation, the association said it may consider taking appropriate legal action against those responsible for circulating the fake circular.
