On Friday 16 Febraury CM Himanta Biswa Sarma said that the Basundhara 3.O will be started in full throttle in the state, after the Lok Sabha elections. Assam will soon reserve revenue villages with 100% inhabitants of ST SC communities under the third edition of Mission Basundhara. The 1.O launched on October 2, 2021 land related services to the people and eight lakh case have been disposed.The 2.O was launched on November 14, 2022 that addresses land rights of the people of the state.
Sarma said Mission Basundhara 2.O mainly address to indigeous people in a new ray hope for them. He said that under Mission Basundhara 2.O 84% of 2 lakh beneficiaries who were given 'Offer to Settlement' belongs to SC, ST, OBC, MOBC in the Bhramaputra Valley and mor than 1,000 bighas in the Barak Valley were settled.
In Mission 3.O Mission Basundhara next three generation reformation will be brought will be waived off for the tea and Adivasi community people and Gorkha people will be applicable.Similarly, people belonging to ST and SC communities will not have to submit certificate for 'three generation' to get land rights, the CM said.
Sarma said if orgainization or any cooprative socities have been occupying the land without proper rights will also be given land rights under Mission 3.O with certain criteria.
He said people living in Sunsali in Guwahati area and Tea Garden Grants areas in Dibrugarh will be given one time opporunity under Mission Basundhara 3.O to aply for land pattas.
He said in the next 5 years the aim is to establish a modern land revenue system in the sate.
