Bernard Hill has died aged 79 he played Captain Edward Smith in the 1997 Oscar-winning film and King Théoden in the Lord of the Rings
Actor and singer Barbara Dickson confirmed the news on X by sharing a black and white picture of herself and wrote,"It's with great sadness that I note the death of Bernard Hill, we worked together in John Paul George Ringo and Bert, Willy Russell marvelous actor. It was privilege to have cross paths with him. RIP Benny x #bernardhill".
