Nitin Nabin Formally Appointed BJP National President at Party Headquarters

Nitin Nabin on Tuesday formally took charge as the national president of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) at a ceremony held at the party’s headquarters in New Delhi. Senior BJP leaders, Union ministers and chief ministers attended the event, marking a significant transition in the party’s organisational leadership.
Nabin succeeds Jagat Prakash Nadda, who completed his term as BJP president after leading the party through several key electoral victories since 2020. The change at the helm comes at a crucial time, with the party preparing for upcoming Assembly elections and laying the groundwork for the next national polls.
The 45-year-old leader was elected unopposed, having been the sole nominee for the post. With his appointment, Nabin becomes the youngest national president in the BJP’s history, a move widely seen as reflecting the party’s emphasis on generational change and organisational strengthening.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi, while welcoming the new president, said the BJP’s strength lies in its cadre-based structure and described himself as a “party worker” under Nabin’s leadership. Several senior leaders expressed confidence that Nabin would further consolidate the party’s organisation across states and energise grassroots workers.
Hailing from Bihar, Nitin Nabin is a five-time MLA and has previously served as a minister in the Bihar government. Known for his organisational skills and long association with the party, he has worked extensively within the BJP’s youth and state units before rising to the national level.
In his address, Nabin thanked the party leadership for the trust reposed in him and paid tribute to his predecessor. He said his priority would be to strengthen the BJP’s organisational structure, expand its reach among new voters and ensure coordination between the party organisation and governments led by the BJP.
The formal appointment ceremony concluded with party leaders expressing optimism that Nabin’s leadership would guide the BJP through the challenges and opportunities of the coming political cycle.
