This year, the BCCI wants to take a big step for the sake of domestic cricketers. According to board sources, the salaries of domestic cricketers will soon be almost doubled. The BCCI may take steps to increase match fees on the recommendation of the National Selection Committee.

In addition, Syed Mushtaq Ali and Vijay Hazare received separate awards for the trophy. Senior cricketers now earn Rs 25 lakh to Rs 30 lakh a season.
Cricketers could earn between Rs 7.5 lakh and Rs 1 crore a season if their salaries are doubled.
