Assam's Guwahati has become the second most polluted city in the world, The World Air Quality Report 2023 by IQAir has revealed alarming statistics regarding air pollution in various cites worldwide.
Bihar and Begusarai claimed the top spot as the world's most top city with Delhi, Mullanpur and Lahore rounding at top five.
Guwahati recorded average annual level PM2.5 connection of 105.4, exceeding the World Health Orgaization (WHO) over 10 times.
The reasons can be several factories, including and increase in construtions activites across the cities arising the dust pollution, along with the high number of vehicles on the streets.
Its highlighted exposures to PM2.5 air pollution may leads to numerous health conditions, including asthama, cancer, stroke and lung disease, respiratory illnessses as well as cognitive development in children.
As per data report was collected from more over 30,000 air quality monitoring stations across 7,812 various locations of worldwide.
