First Flight Test of  Agni-5 Missile...

The Agni-5 Missile, under Mission Dibvyastra, an indigenously developed, highly weapons systems the alters the country's geopolitical positions. The Agni-5 MIRV missile, developed by the defence research centre DRDO fora decadetook a flight for the first time today.

The new weapon system has a Multiple Independently Targetable Re-entry Vehicle (MIRV) technology  which ensures a single  missile can deploy multiple war heads sat different locations.

With this feat, India has joined the select groups of nations who have MIRV capability, including United Kingdom, United States, Pakistan and Israel.
