A father and daughter lost their lives in a tragic incident. While the two were coming on a scooty, a transformer on the roadside suddenly exploded and the father and daughter died tragically in this blast.
The incident took place on The Nais Road in South Bengaluru, Karnataka. A 55-year-old Shivraj and his 19-year-old daughter Chaitanya died following an electric transformer explosion that occurred on Wednesday afternoon.
Chaitanya finally succumbed to his death on Thursday after battling life and death after a serious fire. On the other hand his father Shivraj died a few hours after the incident took place.
The mishap took place when the father and daughter returned home in Scooty after booking a hall for chaitanya's ring-wearing ceremony. It was as if there was destiny on the road for both of them. They were severely burnt when oil emitted from transformers covered the scooty due to transformer explosion. A water tanker was sent to the spot from Nagarbhavi fire station and it extinguished transformers and bike fires.
Gyanbharthi police have lodged an FIR against bescom executive engineers and other officials for criminal negligence following the order of local MLA St Somasekar. Local residents claim they had been complaining to Bescom in the past about oil being emitted from transformers but they did not take any action. The incident has cast a shadow over the entire region.
